Black Caps power through to semi-finals

New Zealand 147 for 6 (Guptill 53, Broad 4-39) beat England 146 (Collingwood 40, Elliott 4-31, Bond 3-21) by four wickets
The Black Caps have qualified for the semi-finals of the Champions Trophy in South Africa with a four-wicket win over England.

New Zealand dismissed England for 146 on a tough pitch at the Wanderers ground.

All-rounder Grant Elliott took 4/31 while Shane Bond chimed in with 3/21.

The Black Caps got their reply off to a fiery start with Brendon McCullum, 48 off 39 balls and Martin Guptill, 53 off 55 balls, putting on 84 for the first wicket.

They had to survive another middle order collapse during which they lost five wickets for 27 runs as England paceman Stuart Broad took four for 39.

But skipper Daniel Vettori and all-rounder James Franklin calmly collected the seven runs New Zealand needed with Vettori striking the winning boundary off Broad.

New Zealand will meet either Pakistan or Australia in the semi-finals.
